The term medical malpractice is the professional negligence by a practicing health provider, e.g. a doctor, nurse, dentist, technician, hospital worker or hospital, who acts wrongful or fails to do so, of which does not conform to the accepted standards of practice guiding the medical community and that causes injury, disability or death to a patient or patients. The standards and regulations regarding medical malpractice vary in various countries, as well as jurisdiction issues. All practicing medical professionals are required to have a professional liability insurance to compensate for the costs of lawsuits covered by medical malpractice. Continue reading
