Mesothelioma and lung cancer are two separate entities having no relation between them. While lung cancer affects the lungs itself and is caused by a wide range of reasons including smoking, mesothelioma lung cancer, which occurs due to inhalation of asbestos filled air, attacks the mesothelium, a protective lining covering the pleural cavity. The disease often erupts only after many years of such exposure and this aspect alone is responsible for many mesothelioma related deaths. Continue reading
