<p>The legendary Tony Robbins tells us that many people don\&#8217;t succeed in business despite contantly buying business books and going to seminars. Well, its very much like health and fitness!</p>
<p>Do you think just maybe you set yourself up for failure each time (unknowingly) because you haven\&#8217;t had success in the past so you believe you wont have success again? All you have done is set yourself up for failure before you\&#8217;ve even taken the first steps&#8230;and they are big steps if you are not in the right mindset for success.</p>
<p>Do any of these comments sound familiar to you? \&#8221;Oh well, I\&#8217;ve paid all this money so it had better work\&#8221;, or \&#8221;I\&#8217;ve paid all this money, so they have to make it work\&#8221;. See, straight away you are putting the responsibility and blame on someone else. It doesnt matter how much money you pay, if you dont believe it from the beginning, nothing will work.</p>
<p>People are often surprised when they contact me about online personal training, when I ask them the question \&#8221;do you believe you can do this?\&#8221;. They think it is up to me to get them results and absorb all the responsibility. If people are not at this basic stage of belief, I dont take them on as clients. I ask them to come back when they are ready and believe they can get great results for themselves (of course with my guidence and expertise)</p>
<p>Stop disappointing yourself. Believe you can get great health and fitness and a fantastic body and you will!</p>
<p>Remember you are the only one that can make it happen. All the gym memberships/personal trainers/books and videos won\&#8217;t get you there unless you believe that you can get there. Sure you need support, you need expert advice, you need direction, but it really is up to you. Will you be that person or stay the same?</p>

<p>You won\&#8217;t find any wild promises or expensive programs here, just sensible, easy steps to follow, at your own pace, to make some changes to your lifestyle and lose weight gradually so you can maintain it.</p>
<p>Firstly, how do you feel about losing weight? Are your thoughts and emotions a bit negative on this subject? This is so understandable, especially if you have tried before to lose weight and failed, maybe several times. So the first step is to change your beliefs and attitudes about weight loss to be more positive and supportive of your efforts. Be kind to yourself, and make sure that your mind is helping, not hindering your efforts.</p>
<p>Commit to the decision to stick with a simple program until you have lost the weight. It could be hard, but you can do it; you will do it until it is done. Believe that you can; don\&#8217;t let past failures affect your success this time. When you talk to yourself (and we all do), only repeat positives.</p>
<p>A weight loss journal is a great tool for recording what changes you made, how that went for you, what your thoughts and emotions are, how you are feeling each day. Use the journal to record your progress and what strategies worked well for you. The first thing to write is your determination to lose the weight; that you will until. Then make a list of your own reasons for wanting to put yourself through this. To give yourself a better chance of success, you need to be losing weight for yourself. On those \&#8217;hard\&#8217; days, when you are struggling a bit, it is good to read your reasons to yourself; this helps to keep you motivated and moving forward.</p>
<p>What is a healthy lifestyle? Go online and research this topic, so you know what you are aiming for. You will think of several areas where you are not healthy, while you are researching. Pick 3 things that are part of your current lifestyle that are keeping you from being the weight you want. Write them in your journal. Some things could be eating too much fast and processed food, sitting around too much, eating lunch at your desk, skipping meals, snacking on fatty or sugary foods.</p>
<p>Now think of just one thing, for each of your three, that you can do during the next week, to help reverse these \&#8221;bad\&#8221; habits. You might limit fast food to just one day in the week and cook for yourself on the other days. You might go for a short walk every morning. Maybe focusing on eating more vegetables, lean protein and whole grains is your thing. Be creative in your strategies to make it a bit of fun; don\&#8217;t take it too seriously! Just remember the healthy weight mantra \&#8217; \&#8221;eat less, move more.\&#8221;</p>
<p>After that first week, you simply repeat the process by choosing 3 \&#8221;bad\&#8221; or unhealthy things in your life that you can change and help with your weight loss, every week. Remember though, that nothing is really \&#8221;bad\&#8221;, just some things will help you lose weight and be healthier more than others. You will gradually be changing your lifestyle to a healthier, happier one and losing weight and gaining fitness at the same time. Good luck!</p>

<p>1) Keep track of everything you eat by writing it down.</p>
