Growth plates are sections of cartilage located on the ends of longer bones. As young people hit their growth spurts, these plates lengthen gradually, which results in dramatic changes in height.

Because of this, it is best advised to start young. Commence with a good diet and exercise. Provide your body with the essential nutrients for bone development such as calcium, amino acids, protein, and calories, as well as good posture and getting enough sleep. Doing all these does not only benefit your height but your bones as well.

Meanwhile, if you know your bones have stopped growing, then do some research on how to increase your height.

Just beware of claims about stretching exercises to make you tall.

Take note that this is not a fact. Stretching is indeed good for the muscles but not to make you taller. As the bones reached their maximum length, no hormonal therapy, herbal supplements and exercise can lengthen them again.

This does not mean that there is nothing you can do to better your look and height. You still can by modifying your clothes and picking out the right pair of shoes.
